The new kit sees the Hibees return to an all-green look for the first time since the 2008/09 season. Taking you back to October 7, 1964. Spanish giants Real Madrid came to Easter Road for a friendly on Wednesday 7 October 1964. Under the management of Jock Stein, the Hibees triumphed against the legendary Real Madrid side – winning 2-0 on the night with Peter Cormack opening the scoring before Real Madrid defender Ignacio Zoco deflected in Pat Quinn’s effort. The match went down as a legendary victory for the Hibees, but it also marks a significant moment in our kit history as it was the first time we wore green shorts! To avoid a kit clash with Real Madrid (who famously wear all white), the Hibees were forced into a last-minute change – replacing our white shorts, with green. The last time we wore all green was during the 08/09 season. Now, after 15 years – the all-green look is making an eagerly anticipated return!
